Members of R.E.M., Yo La Tengo, the dB’s and more gathered to perform a “one-of-a-kind acoustic, orchestrated performance” on November 7th at St. Ann & The Holy Trinity Church in Brooklyn. Photos and recaps from Stereogum, Brooklyn Vegan, and Full Time Aesthetic. The ensemble is set to perform a similar show in North Carolina in early December at Cat’s Cradle
Rolling Stone premieres an all-star performance of Big Star's "In the Street" (featuring Mike Mills of R.E.M. and Brett on lead vocals) from a forthcoming Big Star's Third documentary. The film, entitled Thank You, Friends: Big Star's Third Live...and More will premiere on March 16th at the SXSW Film Festival and will be released on April 21st.
